These terms apply to your use of CaribbeanSphere (the “Site”) and to contributor accounts. By creating an account or using the Site you accept them. Please also read our privacy policy.

1. The service

CaribbeanSphere is an information service about events and activities in the Caribbean. Event details are provided by organizers, contributors and public sources; dates, places and prices may change or be cancelled. We are not the organizer or the seller of the events listed, and we do not guarantee the accuracy of their information.

2. Accounts

  • You must give accurate information, keep your credentials secret and verify your e-mail address.
  • Publishing photos or events requires a contributor account (photographer and/or organizer). We approve, refuse or withdraw contributor status at our discretion, for example in case of misuse.
  • You are responsible for what is done with your account.

3. Your content

  • You keep ownership of your photos and texts.
  • You give CaribbeanSphere a non-exclusive, worldwide, free licence to host, resize, display and promote your approved content on the Site, with credit to you, for as long as it is published. You can ask us to remove it at any time.
  • You confirm that you own the rights to what you submit, that it does not infringe anyone's rights, and that you obtained the consent of identifiable people where the law requires it.

4. Moderation

Every contributor application, photo and event is reviewed before publication. We may refuse, edit for formatting, or remove any content, and we may explain why by e-mail. Published content can be taken down later if it breaks these terms or if a rights holder asks us to.

5. What is not allowed

  • Illegal, hateful, violent, sexually explicit or misleading content, and content that violates privacy or intellectual property.
  • Fake, duplicated or spam submissions, and events that do not exist.
  • Attempts to disrupt, scrape at scale or gain unauthorised access to the Site.

6. Intellectual property of the Site

The Site, its name, logo, design and compilation of data belong to CaribbeanSphere or its licensors. Contributors' content remains theirs, subject to the licence above.

7. Suspension and deletion

You can stop using the Site and ask for the deletion of your account at any time (see the privacy policy). We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.

8. Liability

The Site is provided “as is”. To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect damages, for interruptions of the service, or for the content and conduct of third parties, including event organizers.

9. Changes and law

We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version, and continuing to use the Site means you accept it. These terms are governed by the law of the country where the publisher of the Site is established.
